Too many years ago to mention, the principals at On Point Legal Tech worked together at a large New Orleans law firm. Some of the partners asked if we could build something that would help them manage the summer law clerk program. Lawyers are busy, and leveraging automation helps save time and money.  

After an initial meeting to outline the scope of the job, we put together a plan that would involve building a web application. Web apps are software applications that run on a web browser, rather than on a local computer. They're accessed through the internet and run on a web server. Examples of web apps include email apps Outlook and Mac Mail, online shopping, social media sites, and project management tools like Monday.com and Asana.

After a few follow-up meetings we drafted a project summary then designed, tested, retested, and launched the app. 

We built the web app with a focus on three main functions that allowed admins to:

• Schedule tasks and send them to the law clerks
• Communicate with the clerks while they worked on the task
• Evaluate and score the work when completed

The app was praised by the legal professionals and the law clerks who used it, and was upgraded and active for many years.
