Every business needs a website, including small law practices. John Munoz' previous website was okay. It had a bare bones layout that framed the basic info – John's bio, a page about his practice, and a contact page. In mid 2021 we were able to replace that website with a new version with a modern layout, and more importantly, much improved content. The new content coupled with some Google tools helped increase the website traffic nearly 8 times as much as the 2020 website.
The last full year for the old website was 2020 when it was viewed by 1,103 total unique visitors. In 2021 the total unique visitors climbed to 5,583 and in 2022, the site's first full year on-line, total unique visitors jumped to 8,752.
These additions made the difference:
- SEO optimized copy
- Google Business Profile and Google Search Console setups
- Google Maps pin fix
SEO Optimized Copy
The old site's practice content was one page with an intro paragraph and a bullet list. That is not a recipe for success in the legal market search world. The new site features detailed keyword rich write-ups for the five primary practice areas.
Google Business Profile and Google Search Console Setups
It's surprising how many small law practices do not claim their Google Business Profile (GBP). If your law practice has not or is unable to claim its GBP, On Point Legal Tech can work with your law office to claim, verify and manage the profile.
Google Business Profile benefits include:
- Increased visibility in Google Maps and local search results
- More accurate information in the profile such as your address, phone number, and hours of operation
- Enhanced credibility through customer reviews
- Increased engagement with potential clients through photos and post updates
We can't underestimate the value of a verified, up-to-date Google Business Profile. It will help to build your online presence and reach more potential customers, which should ultimately drive growth for your law practice.
Google Map Pin Fix
John's office moved from 1010 Common St. to 935 Gravier St. but they didn't realize their address in Google Maps did not change after the move. They didn't have a Business Profile at the time, and the change we made to the GBP did not translate to the map. After a lot of back-and-forth messages with Google, the issue was finally resolved.
